Chiaki's not really a traditional samurai though. She's not heavily armoured, horsed, or supported by ground troops.

I call her variety a "modern Samurai".

Indeed. But that means manouvreable and multi-theatre and required adaptations of equipment and method.

I think there's a distinction in the direction or purpose of their training too. Keiko was trained as an assassin, Chiaki as a warrior.

    Quote:
Style is a difference too. Keiko would be trained in stealth-emphasized ninjitsu, Chiaki in power and speed emphasized kendo. They overlap quite a bit at points, but the idea is Samurai are generally armed more obviously, and Ninja are not.

And samurai are in front of you while ninja are behind you.

I'm still getting quite a lag and lots of error pages (generic ones not Mangacool ones). It seems especially bad on the gap between posting a reply and getting a generated reply page, but maybe that's just because I notice it more because I have to check if each reply actually made it to the board.

Support has already been made aware, especially since the network connection for the server went out altogether for a while this afternoon.

It seems very much improved today. I haven't had a missed page so far.
