Actually, the secret is - and don't spread this around - that almost all the people in the story are fictional.

I'm seeding plenty of threads that can be picked up in some subsequent chapters and reminding readers of some of the underlying issues, tensions, and backstories that we haven't dusted off for a while.

I can't help but feel that if I hadn't vanished from the board for a while there, you wouldn't need to do so much dusting. (And I'd be afraid of G-Eyed heading back into the pain chair in retribution, but that'd probably wind up happening either way.)

You need to see someone about this guilt complex. There's literally hundreds of possible PV threads floating out there waiting for the right moment. Admittedly some of them are waiting for a poster character that might never return (there's a load of thud stuff, Dancer stuff, DK stuff, Finny stuff, Sorcy stuff, etc sitting there brooding). If Pierson's Porter and Rocket Racoon ever get back here I'm ready for 'em. But mostly the PVB has evolved to work around absent friends and to work them in again just as easily.

I'm quite enjoying it, and I'm very interested to see where things go from here. Even if that includes a pain chair or two.

However, next time it's not G-Eyed in the pain chair. You still live in Canada, right?

These daily updates are making me feel incredibly lazy. But I did write some more today. That's worth something, right?

Absolutely. If you read the penalty clause on your PVB writing contract you'll see that means you could keep up to half of a kidney.

I'd better get a move on, then - or else I'll be finishing this story while hooked up to a dialysis machine.

I receieved your e-mail this morning and I'll get to it as soon as I've finished these replies.
