...is Mecha Liberation Army? Are the robots finally revolting?

The Machine Shop's been quietly setting something up for quite a time now.

    Quote:
If that new weapon stops *genetic* gifts, that indicates it has some other capability that's jamming Yuki's body from communicating with her flesh brain.

Yes. As we'll detail more next time, somebody's gone to the trouble of preparing a package specifically aimed at taking down the members of the Lair Legion, and its based on detailed and classified biometric and technical records.

The primary assault was on the DNA link to powers control but somebody took the time to also figure out how to fritz the interface Yuki relies on to control her robot body (it was Rikka Ulz Hagen if that helps; a number of specialists have contributed).

    Quote:
It also means that Donar should be immune to it, since he's just a norse god, not a genetic mutant - his power was granted to him, not inherited, wasn't it? But he's easily distracted, so he might not realize something's wrong inside the compound just yet. Plus he's not invincible, so many against him, he may fall to injuries.

Donar's certainly a special case. The rest of the Donar neutralisation package will become clear next time.

    Quote:
Also side note: Lara Night's abilities are not genetic either - they were granted to her, like Donar's. It's more like an "attachment" to her body and soul. Of course I'm not going to say she would fare much better, because if the Aryan Ideal thought to neutralize Yuki separately, he'd probably add something that would suck dry Lara's energy stores so she's just an average easily squishable blonde woman.

What the package did was twofold. As with the anti-mutant treatment it attempted to "rectify" atypical genetic structures; but this also targeted the physical interface that the brain uses to command superpowers. That's why someone with granted powers like Dancer could be affected. It's a specialised lobotomy.

    Quote:
Out of everyone I can think of, the two biggest annoyances the Aryan Ideal might have had would be Visionary, who would dodge his attacks and whine, and the Psychic Samurai, who he just can't seem to hit but keeps cutting him with that damn sword. Trained as she is, she doesn't need to be psychic, that's just a bonus.

The problem with fighting Aryan Ideal is that he has pretty much the same powers as Mr Epitome, including a fair bit of super-speed and a virtually indestructible hide. He's not quite as strong as Donar, not quite as dexterous as CSFB!, not quite as combat-trained as Yuki, but not far behind any of them.

    Quote:
And since not every superhuman is at the compound right now, more could arrive...how fast can that weapon recharge and fire again?

Who knows?

    Quote:
I can see why Anna would have become a target before the fight even started, since she could have rendered that electronic weapon useless and protected the Lair Legion from its effects. Or even if she didn't see it coming until after it was fired, she could destroy it right after, and then probably pick a fight with Aryan Ideal to keep him from killing the depowered Lair Legion.

I'm sure that if there's been a study to take down the Legion there's probably a package designed for any associates they might have too.

    Quote:
But, since Aryan Ideal is smart, he probably would have incapacitated her first to protect his prime weapon. Probably with simple brute super-strength force, beating the poor android girl until she cries. Then he'd be forced to incapacitate Yuki, because she'd lose her temper and try to take him on herself.

I'm sure he'd enjoy beating her up.

    Quote:
Liu Xi Xian is going to freak out when she gets home and realizes that for the time being, not only do the LL want her as a member, but she may be the only *active* member (the rest will likely be placed on leave for a bit) until a solution to the no-more-powers issue is found.

There's more events yet to unfold - and another villain to play his hand.
