Hatty would probably have a problem with that, if the procedures are intended for safety. He'd want to argue that, just because things worked out this time ny luck it doesn't mean it was okay to cut corners.

Lara might agree if she too believed it was indeed because of luck. Basically she would argue if she felt like the procedures impeded her ability to make quick decisions.

For instance, if there was a bomb in a building, the procedure might be to evacuate all civilians first, and then figure out how to neutralize the bomb. Lara has the ability to wrap the bomb in a shield, carefully burn out its timing mechanism, or simply send it away where it can't harm anyone. So she'd probably do that without bothering to look for civilians first.

That's a violation of procedure, but she'd argue the point that it's far less risky because of her unique abilities. She won't get angry until someone uses the line that "this is how we all have to do it, so you have to do it this way, too". Her point of view is...what is the point even asking for her help if they don't allow her to use her abilities?

    Quote:
The Hood doesn't particularly want to irritate the Legion. He quite respects them as opponents and even admires them in a detached sort of way. He has expressed mild contempt for other LL foes that underestimate them or don't see their value.

Then again, he might just insist he has to irritate them just to see how Lara reacts to it.

    Quote:
"Taking the Hood's place" might be techiclaly difficult. The nearest we saw to this was an alternate universe in which Hatman destroyed the Hood by seizing and wearing his cowl, only to go on and conquer the Parodyverse in the name of law and order as the Hooded Hat.

Faite has a gift for oversimplification. She's a bit like "Q" from STTNG in that respect, especially in that one episode where he suggests the Enterprise crew save the planet from a planetary collision by changing the gravitational constant of the universe.

Though even in her oversimplification of things, she's usually not incorrect. She might be able to swap Mumphrey into the Hooded Hood's place because he's a minor cosmic officeholder. But she might not mention that he could have a lot of trouble adjusting to it psychologically, because the limits of what the human mind can take are still alien to her.

    Quote:
A galaxy is perhaps a natural unit of navigational limits, like an island surrounded by ocean. It depends on the nature of jumpgates, of course, but one limitation may be the proximal nature of major stellar clusters; in which case "near" in-galaxy jumps may be easier or more cost effective than far between-galaxy jumps; the fdifference between local and overseas shipping fees.

Wormhole transport can probably spread the Alliance into the next galaxy, but the energy required and the time it takes wouldn't be financially feasible. One day a corporation might attempt it. The cost would be way too high for an individual to try.

    Quote:
An easy prerequisite for contact might be a unified global government with whom to deal. Independent treaties with two hundred nations each with different import/export rules and trade barriers would be unfeasible.

They will sometimes deal with a small number of individual governments who are not particularly contentious with one another.

Adding on with the new stuff:

At this point with Liu Xi's mission into that hole, either she's going to save the Nexus, or it will become a part of her. It wouldn't make logical sense to go through that hole just to die *with* the Nexus.
