Lara will also be proud of herself because she's never had the chance to try EMP before. She's never been somewhere safe enough where it wouldn't cause massive destruction.

Well, unwanted massive destruction. Kerry has always been told not to cause sunflares also.

She does owe them some payback for before. This time she's not unprepared and not the only veteran of the Parody War ready to retaliate.

Good thing for them she has a few years' experience in very measured responses.

My read of the situation is that the Dead Galaxy forces have fought a brave war of attrition but can't stand against the cheats that the Apostate can use. The Cruel Deceiver can offer local firepower advantage but is only one ship on a wide battlefront. The Earth heroes are the single most powerful mobile asset and the only chance of actually achiving more than a famous last stand, but they are still the underdogs.

But they are good at being the underdogs. They are smart underdogs. The Apostate is now up against the first team who have been there and done that and nobody laughs them off.

Again, given the nature of the chapter and the speed that events are being covered in it, there's only a vignette, but there's an important point made there about Chiaki's position.

    Quote:
Is that a pun? Important point, because she carries a sword?

No pun intended.

In Chapter 28 Vinnie discovers he had a new deployment.

The word "deployment" sounds bad for Liu Xi.

Noted.

And adding one comment for this new part:

I didn't know the Manga Shoggth was into romantic stories. Or maybe it was an accident, but is into them now.

He is a story junkie. Before he was a Manga (collecting) Shoggoth he was a Kabuki Shoggoth. I'm not sure he "gets" human romance or relationships but he likes the stories.
