Subj: Tell that to Asil.

Reply Subj: Duplicates don't really count, though.

Incidentally, I was reminded in my researches earlier today that Asil once had 16 lethal clones. I must discover what happened to them.

      Quote:
Wilbur has always had a tendency to underestimate just how far heroes will go to be stupid enough to oppose him. He is a very clever and therefore tends toi discount other people's cleverness.

    Quote:
That could dovetail with Faite's assertion in that tie-in I did that she might already be interfering. Having to deal with cosmic office holders means she often has to be subtle, and she has millennia of experience with subtlety. Her "interference" could be as simple as making sure someone doesn't notice a small but very important event. *If* she is indeed interfering, that is. Because see, the trick is making sure no one can tell for certain.

I refer you to Lisa's oblique-so-as-not-to-tip-off-the-baddies reference to "a select roster of other cosmic players".

    Quote:
Speaking of which, a peculiar trait of Faite's is that she has no *offensive* powers of her own. She can only manipulate the environment. So if she's face to face with some super-powered or cosmic being, her only hope is to make the ground they are standing on weak so it collapses, or cause gas to leak so the building explodes, etc.

Noted.

Chiaki is incredibly patient, so it's likely she may wait until way after this is all over to make whoever attempted to kill Akiko really miserable.

        Noted. That would be Wilbur.

    Quote:
If Chiaki gets the opportunity, she'd probably put Lisa's comment about indestructibility and a landslide to a practical test, so to speak. She's someone who knows that there are much worse fates than death, or even injury, which would come in handy when dealing with someone indestructible.

Of all the cast in Comic-Book Limbo right now, Akiko is in the most danger. Of the three people stabbed by Knifey and placed into "Shroedinger death", she was the only one stabbed by newbie Knifey not "had 13 billion years practice" Knifey. That puts her very close to the edge - and in Comic-Book Limbo that's a sure way of attracting the local lifeforms that feed on people's stories/lifelines. The Hero Feeders are the most known and commonly used of the Lurkers Beneath but they are not the only ones.

I mention this because, whether I get round to referencing it in the limited story segments I have left or not, you can bet that Chiaki and Midori have their work cut out for them, both in combat and in subtler ploys.

    On the new part today:

    Quote:
I observed right away (and then Lisa mentioned it) that dropping a building on the Shaper of Worlds created a job opening. But the timing of it is worrying, because that opening might be filled by someone who could want the old job back: Wilbur Parody. That will make him harder to get rid of.

    Quote:
But then again, if he's in the Shaper of Worlds job, that would also be the opposite thing he really wants to do, and he'd either have to adapt the job to what he wants, or he would have to adapt to what the job requires.

It does leave some interesting story openings, not least the possibility that the role of Shaper may now be broken and a replacement may not be possible!
