In my head different characters would tend to have "first call" on spotting certain things. Vinnie gets to perceive the sorceries, of course. Yuki tends to see the leads. CSFB! spots any comic book or porn reference. Vizh is always there regarding Lair Legion "family" facts. And so on.

And it seems Citizen Z gets first call on spotting the dead.

Slithis has definite plans for Liu Xi; unfortunately he's reckoned without Liu Xi in his calculations.
