You know, a Pterodactyl makes for a great opening!

You have no idea how much in advance you have to book the two headed ones.

Great to see you working on this huge cast. I think you made a fine start at distinguishing them all. One slight weak point was Alcheman's rattling off the list of birds. It seemed more HamBoy rather than Michael Wooster. I think those two are going to be the challenge to keep distinct while also paying reference to their achetypes.

Actually, one "weakness" of the new line-up is the absence of characters who can supply useful background facts. The Librarian was the ultimate character for that, so I'm trying to avoid assigning a similar niche to Ham Boy, although it seems reasonable to have him fan-versed in various old superhero exploits. Of the group I had available, Alcheman seemed the most likely apart from Hatman to do his homework without needing to be trained to it.

But yes, I think if I ever come back and read this again that point might stick out as an awkward bit. Then again, this new line-up is designed to make me have to work a bit harder and improve my writing so I expect a few clumsy bits while I'm finding my feet.

By the way - did you know that 'besar' means 'big' or 'large' in Indonesian? So called the largest island Natuna Besar was either a well researched outcome or an excellent fluke! \:\)

Yes, I knew that. It's also called Bunguran Island.

One minor criticism I have of US superhero comics is that they rarely use real-life settings outside the US. We get plenty of fictional nations, hidden lands, lost cities etc, but apart from occasional forays to well-known capital cities the heroes rarely get out of New York or wherever. If I was a supervillain I'd operate in Sweden and nobody would ever oppose me. So I do try to send the LL out and about a bit every now and then. Hence Indonesia, which I don't think has had a superhero visit from any superhero ever in any comic book ever.

Meanwhile, here's the map that informed the current chapter:

    Quote:
As always the humour was nice and I laughed a good bit at some of the one liners. Sally is good for it, and Vinnie as the straight man.

Sally uses humour as a defence. Vinnie uses bafflement.

Looking forward to Donar kicking butt, ferrethands trying to toss salad, and the next chapter.

Once again, that fight isn't really going to be worth recording. I will deliver a proper battle or two before the chapter's done - I think the CSFB! section features a good old rough-house. As for the Al B. section, well...

What I'm interested to hear is whether chopping the story up this time is a good idea or not. This one was quite hard to get out onto paper (or whatever the electronic analogy for typing on a keyboard is) so I just did it as one massively long chapter. I think I'll have to call a halt to it after the next story section and declare another chapter then (I think there'll be seven daily parts to this). I'm worried that the story might not achive momentum if people don't read it all in one go; but I'm also thinking that the board could use some regular activity.
