Reply Subj: I can't help it if some of the cast own some quite impressive puppies.

Laurie was never that happy a character anyway, Bad things had a tendency to happen to her.

    Quote:
Yeah, funny how that worked out. Just the fickle hand of fate, I suppose...

Some people are just born unlucky.

Another major Amnesia bit in our very next segment.

    Quote:
Good, because I do find her interesting still. I'm really anxious to see how she deals with the Legion, especially if she spends time among them when it's not a chaotic struggle of life and death. Of course, those are the kind of story moments that I really like to see all characters involved in.

We'll be sending the newbie portion of the new line-up on a quiet camping trip soon. Then the more established members can just kick back and relax.

Heh.

    Quote:
Indeed. And being outcast is what Vespiir dreads the most.

    Quote:
Yeah, that's quite the twist of the knife by the Hood. Using her like this really is one of the meaner things he's done in a while... For whatever reason, this one gets to me.

Excellent.

Vespiir was assigned to Vizh's house by Ohanna, as I recall; but he could probably blame Miiri.

    Quote:
Miiri's "Of Earth", so she doesn't even identify herself with any house any longer. Either way, I don't think Vizh would blame anybody for Vespiir... I just think that, if push came to shove, he would feel responsible for her even if he doesn't know her that well. He has the tendency to take responsibilities seriously, even if they weren't really supposed to come with arrangements of convenience or technicality.

I'd have to go back and read something I previously wrote to be sure, but as I recall there was some kind of legal wrangle that saw Vespiir "claimed". Since nobody challenged that claim within seven days she's legally the property of her claimnant.

Meanwhile, Kriije is of the House of Raael and Koodi is now of the House of Kiivan himself! At some point somebody may have to point out to Koodi that in Caphan terms that makes her more valuable than any chattel of her former master.

    Quote:
I do think some of the more traditional Caphans who put a lot of stock into a house's honor will be harsh in their assessment of Vespiir though. I'm not sure how the Juniors will react, but I'm sure it'll be interesting to read.

We'll undoubtedly get to it eventualy, but this is the kind of thing that hurts much more if it's left to fester for a time.

    Quote:
She can see some of his futures.

    Quote:
Can she see what actions separate the different outcomes? Because I imagine that's the really handy part to know.

At the moment Vespiir's not very trained in her powers. I don't really want to write the stuff in-story for out-of-story reasons but you're free to imagine that Vizh will be introducing Vespiir to Tina Cabanez.

    Quote:
I'll still be calling him Hatty et al until someone tells me not to.

    Quote:
It'd be a shame to have to order new business cards unless he was at the bottom of the last box.

See next issue.

I'm sure there'd be a facecloth or something.

And there's one of those illustration ideas that cheers me right up...

And there's Kirk with cash money.
