Jay's already going after Klein. He pushed first. She's pushing back.

    Quote:
He didn't push hard enough. That's my point.

If an empire like Klein's - and Klein's sponsors - could be taken down by one big push it would have been long gone by now. Jay's set himself up for a long war of attrition but that may be an effective long term route to victory.

Hatman's not going to break the law or condone others breaking it on his behalf. In fact part of what he's trying to do is to prove to the people of corrupt GMY that the law can prevail if people stand up and fight.

    Quote:
That's why it's better he talk to Chiaki than Keiko (re: the breaking the law part). Chiaki has a stylish method of intimidation - she would suggest Jay stroll into a restaurant where Velma Klein is having lunch and hint about the dangers facing her during the next re-election, and possibly before.

Assuming Jay got past security there's still Klein's attack lawyers.

      Quote:
As for Boss Deadeyes, you'll recall he gave his blessing on the hit. His reasoning was that if Jay can't survive it then he's not the man needed to bring Klein down, and if Jay can survive it then Klein's authority and reputation are eroded.

    Quote:
He *is* trying to start a gang war though. If that isn't bloody...

He's avoiding a gang war. No point in losing good men who could work for him once Klein's down.

Actually the best person available to try and locate her right now would be the sorcerer supreme.

    Quote:
I meant in particular if Liu Xi is just gone because the PV decided to realign itself. The only two who could make her not gone would be the Hooded Hood or Faite.

I'm not sure the Hooded Hood could do that; at least not directly through the overt application of his powers.

    Quote:
If the Sorcerer Supreme can find her, that's good news, it means she's not gone entirely. Of course if she's dead then it goes back to the Hooded Hood or Faite again. If she's imprisoned or enslaved that would be Vinnie's job.

    Quote:
The remaining question, of course, is what if Liu Xi is being imprisoned by someone with a rightful spiritual claim. Will Vinnie break it or abandon her?

We'll probably find out what happened in UT#344.

    Quote:
I'm already fairly certain that the first job of the government sponsored Lair Legion will be to eliminate CSFB!'s Lair Legion.

Noted.
