Vespiir was put in a bad place, but when dealing with the Hood she's in good company. Quite a few heroes have been put in that same situation.

Have they? I know quite a few have been manipulated into working for the Hood before, but this one felt different to me. More blatant than his usual style, where what the hero agrees to isn't quite so obviously disagreeable. Usually, while we can expect a nasty hook to show up eventually, it's not so apparent when the person makes the agreement. (Such as with Icy.)

The Hood has several reasons for making this bargain with Vespiir. The other major one won't become obvious for a few issues yet.

It is entirely possible, however, that I'm forgetting many of the details of the older Hood deals in light of the more seemingly benign HH of recent years.

See this is why I need to remind people that the Hood is dangerous and scary.
