Reply Subj: The first thing that Tech Support will tell you is that almost nobody does that before calling them.

A couple of months ago, I was at work (I work at a craft store) & one of the cash registers wasn't working as it should. My manager was near by & I told them about it. They tried a few things & then lamented that they'd have to call up the company tech support & be on the phone for awhile. Something they really didn't want to do because they had some other things they wanted to get done before the end of the day. I suggested turning off the register & on again. They weren't sure about that BUT did it anyways. This fixed the problem we were having with the register. After that worked they commented that just turning it off & on again never crossed their mind \:\)

I partly suggested this as joke BUT partly because I've been there when the register hasn't been working as it should before. My manager has called up tech support, spend the 20 minutes to get to someone to help with the problem & it was fixed because we turned it off & on again \:\)
