The problem with genius scientists is it depends what kind. For instance, theoretical physicists like Stephen Hawking or Albert Einstein tend to have very abstract thought processes. It's even reported that Einstein had lots of trouble with math because of its solid, cold logic - but he had no trouble explaining the universe in terms a child could understand.

But the problem is, those kinds of genius scientists are extremely rare. Sure it only takes one to advance understanding by a long way, but most of them thrive on being very meticulous, logical, and basically like walking computers.

If the Wonderwall is an abstract concept, just like life and free will tend to be, it could baffle the Brain Trust as much as the dreams of Azafroth would, and the research could come to a standstill.
