Reply Subj: True, but to be fair I've bought her more than 40 nice greeting cards thanking her for that.

Of all the last crop of stories you started but didn't follow up, the Vizh-as-alien-ambassador one interested me the most.

    Quote:
Ah yes... I actually was using that one to draw a lot of those various storylines together. Squibb was going to come to Vizh for asylum, Joan Henry had become Vizh's bodyguard, Odoona his personal assistant, Akiko Masamune was exploiting his ties with her and the Caphans to work out a trade with Caph, various fallen houses of Caph wanted him dead...

    Quote:
It probably would have made "Heart of Darkness" look straightforward and simple by comparison.

Now I want it more than ever.

[Re A:EMH] Wow... that's... something. It reminds me of all of those old articles written by people who grew up watching "Superfriends" and mocked television executives of the time for thinking "Batman and Superman taking on the Legion of Doom is okay, but we really need to center the show around teenagers like Wendy, Marvin and their dog... that's what the youth really want to watch!"

From the people who brought you Scrappy Doo.

    Quote:
I was, of course, greatly looking forward to the adding of the Scarlet Witch to "A:EMH" and seeing how they played things with the Vision.

While I dread the Civil War plotline because of its abysmal comics iteration, I retain hope that we'll get a decent movie. Feige and co. have built up quite a bank of trust.

    Quote:
Vizh and Wanda will likely get a chance to shine, at least somewhat. Hopefully Vizh isn't completely taken out when Thanos comes for the Infinity Stone in his head. (I fully expect an "Ant-man repairs Vision from the inside" sequence. Why skip that opportunity?)

That would be fun. I just hope they'll demonstate Vision's density powers. If Supergirl on TV can manage a convincing J'onn J'onzz then surely a Marvel movie budget can manage a bit of intangibility?

    Quote:
On a tangent, I hear that Mantis has been added to the cast for the next Guardians of the Galaxy film. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around how much things have changed since the beginnings of this board, that characters like the Vision, the Scarlet Witch and even Mantis are in major motion pictures.

I'm a little concerned at how many characters are getting crammed into upcoming movies, though.

    Quote:
I was always a bit miffed that Super Hero Squad used just about every character in the Marvel Universe *except* the Vision.

I never realised that.

Who wouldn't want a solar deity in the family?
      Quote:
I don't know... I like sleeping in well past sunrise too much.

      Quote:
Think of the savings in alarm clocks, though. And the lack of vampires.

    Quote:
Now that you mention it, I haven't ever had any vampire problems. What if there already is a sun deity in the family? What if I'm it?
This is suddenly a lot of pressure.

If you are a solar deity, you can stand the heat.

It would be a far more welcome reunion letter to get in the mail, honestly. "Hey, a chance to reconnect with people I voluntarily hung out with!"

Yes, my old school is desperate for my chequebook to go back and visit.

    Quote:
I'm not really the person to advise you on that, so imagine you were variously being encouraged or threatened at this point by Yo, Shep, and Lisa.

    Quote:
Lisa shares my burn out, so I mostly get understanding from that side. Still, I'll see what I can do.

Good. Perk her up a bit too. She's way behind on her story quota.

    Quote:
Thanks for the links to much of the Princess and the Great North Star, by the way!

If there's any other bits I'd be glad to add them.

    Quote:
I'll certainly struggle [with novels] if I ever go to the Transworlds Challenge - or associated Caphans.

    Quote:
I saw some of your exchanges on the possibility of adapting the Caphans. I would say not to bother as they weren't all that central to that storyline as a whole, but then I think of the book cover possibilities...

If that what it takes to get a Diller cover these days...

Actually, I quite liked the 10th Caphan storyline but would struggle even with Caphans to translate it to the cast I've established so far. Unfortuately most of the Juniors aren't mine to port, so I'd need to establish a few new members to use them. I'm also lacking substitute Shoggoths, Visionaries, and Dancers.
