There's a lot to be said for a good last episode.

I think we sometimes judge a whole series by its conclusion. Unpopular endings (c.f. Lost or How I Met Your Mother) sometimes taint the whole run in retrospect. Great endings elevate the whole run.

For my money, De Brown Streak set the bar on the PVB for finishing off a character. He gave us a brilliant run of stories (with guest-writers too) and a cracking finale, tidied up all his subplots and took a bow. Shame that the poster left too, but he did say his goodbyes and went off on a high note. Someone else I haven't heard from in years.
