I felt like you were moving on to a different brand of storytelling as your style evolved and you weren't quite sure how C&R fitted with that. Some of your later material was Catherine has a different feel to it. I think if you were staring now you'd take a different approach to the serial.

You're hardly alone in that. For example, Messenger started with stories just as dadaist and absurd as were common on the early BZL, but as he matured as a writer his tales became dark and elegaic. He managed to develop his character beyond its roots but was constrained by the very setting Messy was in. I think maybe Finny has the same problem. I don't suggest you're quite where they were, but you do write now with added depth and scope, so I can see why your old characters present challenges.
