Either candidate could be fun but for different reasons.

I think its an interesting idea, though to be honest there have always been those secondary characters who go through story arcs in UT ala the second tier Avengers: they just were hangers on or support staff not official members of the team (Lisette being the obvious example).

It seemed like the time to go the extra step.

As for your suggestion, I suppose it could work since it would add a personailty type it doesn't look like we have in the upcoming line up and that character has ties with someone who appears to be a major player in upcoming stories. The problems would be I'd have to go back and wrap up the dangling plotline I set up, he's waaaaaay too powerful as I orignally imagined him and would need to be downgraded, and a reason for him to be on the roster would have to be established.

Really it comes down to which character you would prefer to be there. I suppose Epitome and Glory are candidates too.

As for the character we're considering, I think the storyline you wrote and the point it was up to lend themselves quite well to tie-in at pretty much this point in continuity. The character is in the right place in contact with the right people. Admittedly there's a massive Hulk vs Avengers style fight to get over first and then a rationale for his staying around to concoct but there's a convergence at least.

In terms of power levels, how would you consider him in relation to, say, Donar, or the Hulk, or Superman?

Alternatively there's the member we originally discussed. I've got some ideas for him too so there's no reason not to stick with the plan. The downside of [Spoilers blacked again]Alcheman is that power-wise he's quite similar to Liu Xi (one changes himself the other changes elements around herself) and personality-wise he's stable, reliable and not that different in personality from some other heroes who might be in the mix - Ham-Boy is also dutiful, dedicated, polite, and loyal, for example.

On the plus side, Alcheman has a distinctive background, an excellent supporting cast, a tendency to know things (which helps with exposition), a good all-rounder powerset that adds new tactical options, and a classic superhero secret identity. I'm also pleased how well he pairs with G-Eyed.

At this stage I'm happy to go with any of the options.
