Is he [the Hood] sore because he actually cared about her, or sore because in sacrificing her he in a sense lost something, and he doesn't want to appear weak?

I think he genuinely cared in his own megalomanic way. It's the latest in a series of losses the Hood has endured and it hit a sore spot. So of course the Hood is determined to be harder and colder than ever and not allow feelings to get in his way again.

The fight between Ham Boy and MLA was well done. Who knew meat could be such an effective weapon?

Actually I'll need to go and edit it since L! had some quite extensive notes about what was wrong with the way HB used his powers.

    Really? That's a shame.

It has to be done. Sometime.

I'm getting semi-autobiographical there because what Jay's doing with the Foundation is a kind of distilled, amped-up version of what i do for a living. And there's a wish-fulfillment element too; I wish I could be as effective and immediate as he is atb tackling the problems.

I thought you might have drawn from personal experience with this bit.

I've had the derilict building with the crowd, but my solutions were less speedy and the accompanying lawyer didn't look like Hayden Panitierre.

On the other hand, I'm rearely targetted for actual assassination as a result of my endeavours.

    Definitely a plus.

Usually, but sometimes assassination seems like the kind way out.

Finally, a question I've been meaning to ask you: [spoilers blacked out here] Are you still happy with the membership we discussed, or would you prefer to have someone else in there

Reply somewhat blacked out due to the board's new background:

I've had to commission a special programme to convert nu-board pages to old-board pages for my archive. I haven't used it yet but I will.

I'm happy with it. However, I'm going to leave it up to you. You're the one who chronicles the vast majority of the LL's adventures as a team, and as such you should have a great deal of say on who makes the cut. I originally proposed that character because when the idea of a new line up was being bandied about I wasn't sure how many new characters were going to be available, but now that doesn't seem to be an issue. So if you don't really have any ideas for how the character would work on the roster don't use him. I'd rather have no one in the Legion than a hero that doesn't fit your plans or has nothing to do.

It's not like I have massive plans laid out over years. Well, I do, but often other things just come along and cheerfully interrupt them.

I think it's helpful for each poster who wants it to have a character they specially identify with in the LL. It allows a different level of engagement with the story and it keeps them and their character in the spotlight in the posting community.

What's different about the line-up this time is my decision to admit second poster-characters for prolific posters and to include some members who don't really qualify exactly as poster-characters; these latter will allow me to tell some stories in the way that adding Wanda, the Vision, Hawkeye etc. did to an Avengers team that had previously had to leave a lot of major character development to the published titles of the big star players.

Anyhow, let's ponder a bit further. Either candidate could be fun but for different reasons.
