Sorry... I had to make a 2nd trip to the DMV because I didn't quite have all of the identification I needed with me to get a license after moving back to PA. Long day, but now I'm legal again.

So you're allowed to date and drink?

    > > My response should of course be "Untold Tales #335: Dinner and a Show", and in response to Vizh's excellent artwork I have just squeezed out another 3500 words of it. Unfortunately it's proving to be the most difficult thing I've had to write for quite a while and it's not short. I'm going to take a break now before tackling Lara and Co's exploits in the next scene.

    Quote:
Sounds suitably epic... I look forward to reading it!

I look forward to having it finished.

    Quote:
    > > Vizh isn't wrong in his estimation that all of the characters in his banner could be in the next chapter. Most of them already are. And I'm taking requests.

    Quote:
Well, the banner certainly shows some of my preferences. Mostly, I like to see the support staff when appropriate.

Flapjack prefers to see them when inappropriate.

    Quote:
    > > Of course it's not just up to me anyhow; but at the moment I'm the only person really writing the Lair Legion regularly and I'd really like a roster I'm comfortable with to encourage me.

    Quote:
I think, with your record of actually writing about them, you're certainly the most qualified to give any line-up the "official" stamp. Don't hesitate to go with what will encourage you.

I'll hesitate if it's all the same to you. That said, the debate here has helped a fair bit.

    Quote:
Technically, Fleabot is one of spiffy's characters that I just drafted into my cast... but I get why he's on my list. I've suggested before that I wouldn't mind seeing Hallie bumped up to full Legionnaire, with Visionary in his ambassador role (perhaps with his own support staff).

I think that Fleabot attribution has sailed.

I note the Hallie issue.

    Quote:
Hatty should remain, I think. Rabid Wolf is kind of your character, and I certainly think you should have one on the roster that you feel free to treat however you like... she'd be an interesting addition. I like Gamma Ray Gary, but I don't see how he interacts with the rest of the cast right now.

I "donated" Zdenka to Jay some time back, although I think now she might be a liability to him.

    Quote:
I think CSFB should stay, certainly. Glitch could be fun, and while we might be leaning too heavily to tech/robotic characters on the line-up that's not really a reason not to consider her. No reason robots need to be a token presence, after all...

I think Glitch would occupy niches that are already well filled by established members though, and as such she'd not get the reader support she deserves and would get in another storyline. See previous comments about Anna joining the LL.

    Quote:
Mr. E and Glory are my first choices (both of them, preferably.) Alcheman could be a lot of fun, especially as how it will affect his family and bring them into contact with the rest of the team. I'm not sure how Aegis would interact with the rest of the team... it almost seems a shame to take him out of his own classically themed issues, but it could work out really well too. Either way, I want to see the rest of that U-Wolf story.

Indeed.

    Quote:
Al B. should definitely stay. I don't know what to do with the Butterfly Twins, but that could be hilarious as well. However, I think the Night Nurse is a strong contender for membership... I like that idea.

I'm considering the twins for Juniors.

    Quote:
Nobody has kept the PV spinning in stories like Jason has over the last year or so, and so I think his characters have the strongest justification for a multiple-character presence on the team. My vote is for Yuki to stay and Lui Xi to be added. Out of all the candidates, Lui Xi has the most history and interaction with the team.

Noted.

    Quote:
    The Manga Shoggoth

    Quote:
I think he's a keeper... however, if a shake-up is desired, perhaps a change in the Shoggoth's status quo or even his basic nature could fun to explore. No specific ideas, but with something as unfathomable as MS, his return could really lead to most anything.

I'll need to think on this.

    Quote:
I'm always sad when Dancer isn't on the team. I'm a bit frightened by the idea of Kerry on the team, but it could be fun.

I'm still pondering this one too. I don't want to cut Shep, but it's what I'd do to any other absent poster's character (e.g. Yo, Finny, DK, thud).

    Quote:
The Librarian has offered some unique solutions over his membership. Of the group, I'd prefer to keep him.

I'd be happier with the poster's input here.

    ManMan & Knifey

    Quote:
    dull thud & Cressida

    Quote:
This is a really fun group of characters (and I realize that they weren't actually all grouped.) I'd love any and all of them on the team again, whether it can be justified by character participation or not.

Indeed.

    Quote:
    Icy

    Quote:
Icy has some of that fun Yo innocence and unique powers.

And a year back I was angling to put him on the team (along with Kerry, FA, Donar, Silicone Sally, and Champagne). I'm not sure Jack's even lurking right now.

    Quote:
    Sir Mumphrey Wilton

    Quote:
    Fashion Accessory

    Quote:
    Vinnie De Soth

    Quote:
    Tom Black

    Quote:
I like them all (well, Black's a rat bastard, but since Regret hangs around him...) Fashion Accessory and Vinnie would be a fun combo to add to the team, and Mumph is always welcome back.

I'm getting some support for Mumph both in this thread and by e-mail but I remain uncertain.

    Quote:
Love having Donar on the team. 'Gaz is a fun substitute, but I prefer the original.

The problem then becomes what to do with Gaz.

    Quote:
    Yo

    Quote:
    Aw. I miss Yo.

Indeed.

    Quote:
    Nats

    Quote:
Nats pokes his head in often enough that he should be strongly considered... but I also like the set-up you have for him.

I certainly don't intend to write him out of the Parodyverse. I'm not sure about him in the LL.

    Quote:
    Messenger

    Quote:
I would enjoy Messy's return. It does sound like the character has a big comeback in the works.

One that I don't want to preempt prematurely.

    Quote:
I put Sally in the picture because I think she could be fun, and to get JJJ some banner-space.

I'd quite like to squeeze Sally into the line-up. I'd need to find ways of distinguishing her from Lisa or Dancer.

    Quote:
    Lisa Waltz

    Quote:
I love Lisa, but I think her current status quo suits her.

Indeed.

    Quote:
    Champagne

    Quote:
Champagne is a fun character with an interesting angle and could be a great addition. Right now, I'm not sure I could get a quick handle on how to write the character, but that should stop others.

I think of her as a mixture between Sherlock Holmes and Catherine Zeta-Jones' character out of Entrapment. I think her poster liked the casting of Sophia Myles.

    Anvil Man

    Quote:
As long as I'm not responsible for the insurance premiums...

Now where's the fun in Vizh not being responsible for that?

    Quote:
I'll have to give some thought to write-in possibilities. Personally, I think that Mary Prankstar is fun to write, but that may just be me...

I think she's fun but she tends to cover CSFB! territory. That'd be my worry.

She'd be excellent for Vizh's diplomatic staff though.
