The Japanese elements are, as you say:

Ã¥Å“Â° ( chi or tsuchi) Earth
Ã§ÂÂ« (ho, ka or hi) Fire
Ã§Â©Âº (kÃ…Â«) "void" or "sky"
Sometimes a sixth element is added, representing Consciousness, or Ã¨ÂËœ (shiki).

The Tibetan BÃƒÂ¶n tradition has the five same elements again.

The Sanskrit Tattva has earth air, fire, water, and spirit.
