And Lara is smart enough to know an ancient vampire isn't going to want to be her friend. She'd go into the return-the-blood scenario as all-business. Something like "I believe this belongs to you." and then hand it to him and not even expect a thank-you. She'd know it's really more like a hostage exchange than anything else.
