The lack of activity at the top of the board caused me to think that nobody had posted anything since last weekend.

I think there might be a board issue with accepting new posts. At least I hope that's it.

Which is a shame, because this was a rousing conclusion, and I would have been eager to read it as soon as it was posted! Some nice work by Vinnie, showing he's got the chops to handle the Sorcerer Supreme job, temporarily or not.

That was part of the revised purpose of this story. I didn't known when I originally wrote it that Vinnie would be in it.

Your characters are always good with the cunning plans, and walking Grimpenghast into a trap will surely raise his reputation. And earn him a demon lord enemy for life as well... Hopefully the temp job comes with hazard pay.

If only I had the time and inclination to wriote more regularly here now we'd be seeing far more development of some situations.

Unfortunately I sometimes feel like I'm going through the motions of being the person I was pre-divorce and I worry that sometimes ends up in me writing pastiche of my own former styles. It makes PVB writing a little bit of a self-conscious exercise.

I originally said I was writing these two chapters to test if I could still do PVB stuff. I haven't really cleared up my doubts about either my abaility or my commitment.

Of course, it also earned him a visit from the Carnifex. That's a big honor, which I'm sure will end well. Really.

There's another subplot that would have been long settled in my former writing plans.

Looking forward to when this continues!

I'll try some more PVB stuff when I've got on with my current novel a bit more. I really want the remaining 35,000 words completed in the next two weeks.
