The Carnifax doesn't really have anything against Vinnie. It will just be neccessary for Vinnie to die earlier than the rest of the Parodyverse. It's purely business.

As I mentioned to Shrike, Grimpenghast has an absolute awareness of the weaknesses, fears, and temptations of his enemies. He'd know exactly how scared Yuki is of being trapped in the dark in her useless body. But Grimpenghast can't comprehend the other part of the heroes - their courage, self-sacrifice, and motivations to save others. So he had no way of understanding that Yuki would face her nightmares and still do something heroic and essential.

Vrykolokas was "in" on Vinnie's game from the start. After all, he got a fee from the WNC first, then he got a nice forfeit from the WNC later. These annoying lesser undead get on Vrykolokas nerves far worse than most brief mortals.
