That's not a bad idea. I'm going to see if I can get the text quoting to recognize paragraphs.

That would be a good improvement. Revising the system to recognise q and /q if possible would make alterations even briefer and more convenient.

I didn't make that image, but it's there so the text that's currently next to it doesn't run right into the left margin.

Presumably you selected a picture that would appear by default, though? I'm suggesting a background-coloured rectangle would be far better. The strange blobby-head thing is of a colour which hidly contrasts and draws the eye from both the text and the board design and works against everything else the layout is seeking to accomplish.
