We'll probably delve into the Beggar King's reasoning for why Paradopolis is ripe and wide open when we get to the story.

> > The Sturdy Strolling Beggarly Brotherhood don't want to conquer the Parodyverse, just to loot Paradopolis. They have small, achievable objectives.
> And they give up when they learn Paradopolis has nothing of value? \:\)

There's plenty of things there that have value elsehwere in the mutiverse, including things magical, items of weird science, androids, metahumans, and that big house out on Parody Island.

> Btw, some small trivia: The creation of Anna was something I thought of a week ago Friday while watching a certain anime I'm going to make people guess. It was a funny coincidence that I started writing it around the same time you posted Shadowrat, because her introduction and the excuse behind it that Dan Drury gave seem to play right into what's next.

Proceed.

> > The Beggars aren't about power. They're about sneakiness and subtlety and being in 5000 places at the same time so that 20 or so heroes can't stop them all.

> That may be where Liu Xi can excel, because she can make that distance irrelevant. Of course the big flaw in that plan is she won't be able to deal with 5000 enemies in one place either.

The idea is to find a different kind of threat so we can see how our heroes adapt to counter it.

> > > And I think what's left of the Lair Legion has learned a lot too.  As well as the Paradopolis PD and the military.
> > We'll find out in 2008. Hopefully.
> Hopefully?

Yes.
