They are too puissant to regularly challenge and too powerful to play well with the regular cast without overwhelming them. That's why the LL Shoggoth is a "lesser" version of the Manga Shoggoth who rules Lemuria and can do virtually anything. It's why Lisa and the others in the Triumverate are bound by massive regulations and restrictions. It's why I'm sparing of appearances by Ausgard's Oldman.
