There's one key difference; While I do have some characters in a "world of their own" (Vicky Cameron and Jack Burns, Shen Rae and Jai Yoon, and to some extent Yuki Shiro and Chiaki Bushido), some of them are currently irrevocably attached to another world. Liu Xi Xian was destined to be that way from day one, Lara Night doesn't really do much outside of the Lair Legion, Anna lives at the Lair Mansion and essentially hides, and Yuki Shiro is now an established member of the Lair Legion.

This means usually it's easier just to create an impromptu "mini Lair Legion" instead of finding a reason for them to separate. The down side to this is they have to only deal with threats the Lair Legion either wouldn't bother with or wouldn't consider a priority (at least on the surface).

Faite is the only exception, because she has a whole myth and legend behind her existence I could get into someday.





It's the cosmic class powers of Lara Night's that are most difficult to find a niche for. The reason why is because anything that would create a serious threat to her most common powers would also be a high priority for the Lair Legion. It's very difficult to find an excuse for them not to get involved. That leaves me with only two options: Either bet on Lara's conscience taking precedence - i.e. the threat is so dangerous to her friends at the LL, she believes she has to take it on herself so they don't get hurt; or she has to rely less on her more prolific abilities, and instead take on things that would require her unique insight (I tried that with Liu Xi and her resistance to insanity).

Incidentally, that's why I like playing with the Hooded Hood - he meets BOTH of those criteria vs Lara Night.

Yuki Shiro pops up from time to time and takes the short route to something complicated, but I guess I should really go more Sherlock Holmes style with her stories. With Vicky and Jack I've been going more a cross between Dexter and Monk (Vicky being a natural at solving puzzles, but with less violence from her).

Anna doesn't really have a story; it's being made up as we go. I'm sure there are factions out there who would do anything to get ahold of her technology though, and her own passiveness is her worst enemy.

Of all of the ones you mentioned though, the most untapped one, I feel, is probably the Psychic Samurai. You can tell in just every one of her appearances that she has some history behind her, a really deep complex story. The tricky part is going into the future and the past at the same time so both are simultaneously uncovered.





You're right, I do, but as I mentioned above, the tricky part is making this person a threat without them being enough of one to get the attention of the Lair Legion (unless they were, and were taken prisoner).

I think the best one I managed yet was when the Psychic Samurai was completely outclassed by the Machine Shop. They're faster, stronger, and more powerful. She had only her acting abilities and her brain to protect her.
