The contaminant is designed to stick to surfaces, so the only ways of removing it would involve a treatment with radiation or lengthy chemical baths; both of which Al will have to set up. More precisely, the contaminant has been specifically designed to cling to artificial flesh to turn the recepient into a carrier.
