Subj: I wouldn't worry... I'm easily distracted from it. Posted: Mon Apr 26, 2010 at 01:47:31 am EDT (Viewed 526 times) | Reply Subj: Sorry about that. Posted: Sun Apr 25, 2010 at 11:06:13 pm EDT (Viewed 4 times)
Actually, I'm a fan of stories that are able to bring me down, at least momentarily. Proves I'm invested in them. Of course, the writer has to have been the one responsible for that investment if he's looking to take credit. I'd like to take a shovel alongside the head of many comic writers who have offed a character they didn't create and then taken credit for being able to provoke a strong reaction from fans. Quote: This may be where we vary in interpretation. I still see Amnesia as exactly the same person Laurie was. I suppose I'm thinking along the lines of Shep's Far Off story where the Legion lost their memories but their characters were still intact. It's harder for me to see it as a direct continuation of the character, but then so much time has passed as well and that probably doesn't help. Quote: Anyway, CZ's just starting her story arc really so there's time to show not tell this stuff later; starting with the very next section.I'm glad to hear it, as I still find the character and her set up very interesting and want to see more. Plus, the best cure for a character who has been forgotten a bit is a batch of new stories. Quote: It's a tough one for her. She faced the realms of the elder beings to save the Legion from the Carnifex. She only retained her sanity due to the intervention of the Hood (who also had a vested interest in the Legion taking down the Carnifex, of course). She only keeps it while the Hood continues to maintain that intervention. The alternative is terrifying and horrifying. She's one unhappy seeress. Oh, the irony of her going mad trying to save the team isn't lost on me... I still feel very sorry for her as a reader. But the part of me that thinks like the characters notes that it's going to sting when they find out that she's making secret calls to Lord Hood to lead them astray. Vizh probably isn't all that comfortable with the whole "House of Viisionary" idea, but I'm sure he wouldn't discount it as an obligation he has to watch out for them... He'd feel a great deal of responsibility to anyone who used that kind of title, and so I think he's going to be hurt when he finds out even though he doesn't know Vespiir that well. The Juniors have a very real "house" of their own going, though, and that's where the real drama is going to happen. Quote: One wonders if she can see the consequences of helping the Hood's plans forward or if that has been denied her by... the Hooded Hood.Yeah, I did wonder that. At the very least, I believe from her reactions that she knows the Hood is an enemy in this case, at least. Quote: Great job on the Hatman fight (is he still Hatman, or just Jay now?) I hope he didn't save the Losers from the crowd too soon...We'll actually get to see the payoff of that, continuing pretty much straight on, in the closing section of this issue. I'm curious as to whether depowered Hatman remains a subplot running throughout Untold Tales, or whether it merges back in with the Legion storyline. Quote: Quote:I wonder where Liu Xi has vanished to, and whether she remembered to bring a towel. Well, it was a bathroom. It's just, I don't believe she took much else to wear with her. Hopefully it's warm, wherever she ended up. Quote: Quote:I do like CsFB's plan to cheat, even if it was taken advantage of by the Hood. Had it not been, the paradox of never choosing would have given me a headache trying to think it through, so there is that upside. My question is, did he just ask who he chooses, or did he also ask if it works out? Because if his main concern is that he's making all of the wrong choices, then he might not really want to go with who he picks after all. More on this next-time-but-one too. Well, it's not like this line-up change had been particularly easy up until this point... why shift now?
