    Quote:
As you've noted before, Lara's weakness is that she has human vulnerabilities. A sufficiently good toxin should be able to kill her if there was sufficient motivation. Chiaki's old sparring parnters the Z'Sox could undoubtedly provide something undetectable by human forensics.

In an upcoming story, someone about as sneaky as Chiaki (or more like Keiko, actually) is after Lara. She'll have some real human vulnerabilities then, including the fear of being hunted and not knowing why.

    Quote:
That said, every superhero could be wiped out some way of the plot demanded it. The secret is to find ways of pushing the plot in some other direction.

Noted.

And then there's the possibility the Psychic Samurai will throw a huge monkey wrench into the plan by warning Lara ahead of time.

    Quote:
Do her powers include long-term precognition?

Maybe. Chiaki's abilities are unpredictable in scope. Sometimes she gets seconds of warning, sometimes days. And I don't mean from a writer's point of view, I mean from hers - that way a lot of "why didn't she know that was coming?" questions have an answer.

    Quote:
You already mentioned that Lara is unpredictable. Why would the Hood risk revealing a part of his plans when there's a risk that Lara might then use that information to oppose him?

Lara is unpredictable, but not unreliable. The Hood should only worry if Lara has a very good reason for opposing him.

      Quote:
Then again, this might be a moot point since the Hood is behaving more irrationally lately. He may see Lara as an enemy even though she hasn't really done anything but associate with the Lair Legion.

    Quote:
I don't think he's being irrational. He's being enigmatic and masking his intentions.

    Quote:
And he's setting up the game board.

Ok then the point I was making is he has no reason to fear those who aren't even on the game board. If Lara is peripheral to his plan it doesn't matter if she's getting the Jarvisite shards for him.
