Quote: Quote: "Occasional superhero Lara Night dies of drugs overdose. 'She'd apparently been depressed for some time,' confided an unnamed government source, 'but we're not ready to call it suicide yet out of respect for her previous deeds'."Quote: There's a big problem with poisoning though - since she's not really isolated, and has lots of people watching her, chances are she'll be taken to the emergency room. The doctors would then kind of notice she'd been intentionally poisoned. As you've noted before, Lara's weakness is that she has human vulnerabilities. A sufficiently good toxin should be able to kill her if there was sufficient motivation. Chiaki's old sparring parnters the Z'Sox could undoubtedly provide something undetectable by human forensics. That said, every superhero could be wiped out some way of the plot demanded it. The secret is to find ways of pushing the plot in some other direction. Quote: Once she recuperates - and she usually does quickly - whoever ordered it probably wouldn't live very long. Lara takes attempted assassination very personally (as you'll see in an upcoming story).Proceed. Quote: And then there's the possibility the Psychic Samurai will throw a huge monkey wrench into the plan by warning Lara ahead of time.Do her powers include long-term precognition? Quote: Quote: The Hood wouldn't want Lara or anybody to know he was collecting such fragments, or why.Quote: He might want to think about that one. Lara is a very good listener, and she doesn't really have any allegiance other than to help out if she can. That means if he's collecting the Jarvisite for a *good* reason, like stopping the Chain Knight, she might agree to help him. Of course, she also doesn't take "I need it to destroy the Parodyverse" as a valid excuse though. You already mentioned that Lara is unpredictable. Why would the Hood risk revealing a part of his plans when there's a risk that Lara might then use that information to oppose him? Quote: Then again, this might be a moot point since the Hood is behaving more irrationally lately. He may see Lara as an enemy even though she hasn't really done anything but associate with the Lair Legion.I don't think he's being irrational. He's being enigmatic and masking his intentions. And he's setting up the game board. | |||||||
