I grew up with Dr Who (warning, childhood reminiscing follows)

It aired on the ABC every evening at 6ish or so and we watched it religiously.

I used to play it with my brother and sister. My brother was always the Doctor. He even had a scarf, hat and masses of curls (aka Tom Baker).

My sister was either Sarah, Romanna, or Leila usually.

I was usually K-9, but occasionally I got the role of the villain - Davros was a particular favourite because I could raise my eyebrows and cause forehead wrinkles.

I cried when Adric died. \:\( I had a crush on Nyssa.

Our favourite villains, well apart from the Daleks and the Cybermen, were the Zygons. Those things were so freaky! We called them the “Banana Men”. I’m not sure why – I think we thought they looked like bananas.(I still think of them thus and just had to google to find out the name).

Hey we were kids what would we know.

Ah the memories

giggle.
