Subj: I didn't want to pass up the chance to take advantage of a drunken Hallie. Um... for characterization purposes, I mean. Honest.

Reply Subj: Some of the best plot progression comes from fun stories like this

I think one of the reasons I've always enjoyed Joss Whedon's work is his ability to advance the plot through ridiculous scenarios; things like the reveal of Buffy's feelings on being resurrected in the Buffy Musical. And the Parodyverse is excellent at doing just the same thing.

I hadn't really thought of it, but I'd have to agree with that comparison. Of course, if we here at the Parodyverse didn't get our plot progression in during the ridiculous storylines, we'd hardly get any plot progression in at all. ;\-\)

Still, Follies of Youth and Saving the Future and others definitely tend to be great vehicles for redefining relationships and characterization. I think the nice thing about round robins (or really any story that invites tie-ins) is that it offers the rest of the board some opportunities to explore little kernels of characterization that might not be enough to build an entire plotline around. Too often we hold off on them when one crosses our minds, and we never get around to putting them in continuity.

There have been some great little moments in your chapters so far (Hallie referring to Vizh as he boyfriend for the first time), and Hallie opening up about her feelings to Vespiir was another great character moment.

Thanks! Of course, Hallie didn't just share her feelings with Vespiir, she shared her prediction of her own future with the young Seeress.

Having a fortune teller around makes for some easy foreshadowing.

I'm curious to see if Hallie's drinking adventure has any other ramifications to the outside world, as she is so connected to, well, everywhere.

I had considered possibilities beyond her drunk-dialing Garrick, but I don't have anything planned if someone else has some fun ideas they'd like to explore. Fleabot's being called in to try and keep her from getting into too much trouble that way, but then he's not there yet...
