It's a little thing, but it's arguably indicative of bigger problems.

I find it hilarious that they couldn't even come up with their own distinctive score.

The music you hear in the background?

That's from the Sci-Fi Channel miniseries of Children of Dune.



Trailers are often cut to the scores of entirely different movies, since their own scores are usually unfinished at the time the trailer is released. But yes, after... what, 8? other Star Trek flicks, one would have thought they could have found some decent music from their own series.
