Subj: It's not hard, because you've not written them. Proceed.

Reply Subj: As always, you write my characters better than I do.

More seriously, it would be really helpful for me to see how you write them nowadays. From what I've seen of your recent writing your style has developed and tightened since your days of writing PV stories. It would help to have some idea of how Nats speaks and behaves and reacts now. And it prevents me having to sketch in definitions that should properly come from his creator.

I worry when "tehy become my characters" because that means their creators feel more dissociated from them, like a mother bird not accepting back a fledgeling that a human has picked up.

> That's a far more coherent recap of Nats' past adventures than I could've managed. I really did have him stumble from one loopy set-up to another, but, yes, time to revamp him again into something better. So maybe it's best we just ignore silly, poorly-written origin stories... *sweeps the few pages of Nats #0 written years ago under the rug*

As many of the writers you admire have shown, it;s possible to take those simple stories written in an earlier and more innocent time and rework them into something iconic and powerful.

And to be honest, there's no more fundamental and elemental superpower than flying. Men have dreamed of it since they could first dream. There's got to be a story there.
