> > It looks like all the various "new Lair Legions" are heading for a huge confrontation that may tear the city apart. If that happens it looks like all the hidden elements like Lara Night and the Silver Aegis may have to finally step out of the shadows and go active (the Psychic Samurai is an exception though, more on that in a moment). However...

There's more going on than meets the eye. I have a post on it soon.

She may start to feel like this whole confrontation is engineered to get all the powerful hero-types out in the open and in one place so someone, perhaps the Baroness, can eliminate them all at the same time. Because whoever does that becomes the dominant force on Earth. She'd be reluctant to allow herself to fall into that trap, but she'd also feel compelled to keep an eye on matters there.

> Easier said than done, of course. People might be watching to see who's watching.

That, Lara doesn't care about, as long as she's not close enough to get caught in whatever is supposed to eliminate all the rest of the heroes at the same time.

Of course the bad part to that is, if it's a "who" doing the eliminating and not a "what", and she survives, then she's the one and only hero left and the hunt is on.

> > As for the Psychic Samurai (who's going to sort of let something slip in my next post), she knows very well that she has no super-powers and wouldn't stand much of a chance in a free-for-all brawl between super-heroes. She may realize the same thing as Lara - partly because they can actually discuss it now - except instead of keeping an eye on the battlefield, Chiaki would be on the prowl for the person pulling the strings.

> As above.

Unlike Lara, Chiaki is used to being hunted while she's doing the hunting. It doesn't bother her in the least.
