Indeed. I hope to give Alice one good fight though.

The Librarian's ability isn't really intended to be offensive. It's more like using a gold club as a weapon.

He can only move text around in its various formats. If it's not been "written" in the classic sense he can't affect it.

We'll see more about the adversary's motives and therefore his methods in the third story update.
