Quote: You don't HAVE to pair everyone off. (That's the obsessive side of you again?) But let's face it - foiled romance twists make for 98% of Parodyverse plots - and are all the better for it too. (I made that statistic up - 75% of stats are made up - including this one). Pairing up is another problem. Many fictional narratives are by nature reductive, so if two cast members hook up it has to be some major plot point or startlig new status quo. Sometimes it can just be a coffee. Quote: Another option, of course, could be too cull a few of these female singles. In true Parodvyerse style. Through the introduction of "He-Man-Womanhater". A foe from the Chronicler/Shaper side of the Parodyverse whose duty is to cull excess females from the narrative. Remarkably, a check check reveals I've got rid of rather less female characters than male ones, even discounting villains who by far skew towards being male. Quote: I'm sure Visionary would LOVE this plot. Why not just find a stick and poke him with it? Quote: Quote: ...almost all of them are now matured into stable long-term relationships: ... G-Eyed/Laurie/Beth ...Quote: *cough*stable?*cough* Stable-ish. It's not like Bry is available right now for a brief encounter with Kara without it being a Whole Thing. Quote: Quote: This means that when I wanted a "bad boy" to turn up to ruffle Kara's world there was a pretty shallow pool to draw from. In the end it came down to Chronic or Tom Black, and Chronic requires less set-up. But the point is, our current cast gaps are an artefact of our previous cast surpluses and require a bit of managing.Quote: Manage away! Though...maybe she would have preferred a "bad girl"? Too late now, she's been wooed by Steve. It's not too late. I'm sure Keyboards Melanie would be interested. Quote: Also, part of me wants to say "Hey there's always Hacker9!" but you know I have an irrational support for that kid. H9.s dating life in inibited because he is (a) Hacker 9, (b) offworld, and (c) a herald of Galactivac. I really need to get back to him at some point. Quote: Personally I'm waiting for the time when the micro-chip-in-the-arm includes a hologram computer screen directly connected to the internet. *sigh*Starting each time with the Google/Microsoft logo and sponsored local restraunt recoomendations. | |||||||
