Subj: Who wouldn't want toast delivered yesterday?

Reply Subj: I hear that time is relative. Enty tried explaining it to me once, but I was too nervous about the adjustments he was making to the toaster to listen.

Always good comedy fodder to have the Caphan perspective on things, and nice to see that Vesper has fallen in with good (in certain contexts) friends that look out for her and keep her from stabbing too many underclassmen. I quite like how the various characters have applied their personalities and powers towards living together in a tight knit group.

I would certainly have got around to ddoing some character work on Vespiir and R.J. had I continued regular PV writing back in the day. For that matter I'd probably have followed up on all the Caphans who came back to Earth, maybe in a Caphan Charity Foundation storyline with the Shoggoth and his High Priestess. Still, better late than never, I suppose.

And what's this? Kerry being grumpily pushed into being the (hot headed) responsible one? I love it both as a reader and as someone who needs to adopt the mindset of a certain Regular from time to time. There's some poetic justice in seeing her be the reluctant leader in any measure and watching her have to herd the cats who are her teammates.

Heh. Yes, Kerry has an alarming tendency to step up and do the right thing occassionally, which is always going to put her in a bad mood.

My favourite bit that I came across when I was checking up on continuity was this exchange from the Juniors going up against the massively overpowering Purveyors of Peril in Saving the Future:

    Quote:
“Forget the Junior part,” Kerry told him, standing over her fallen team-mate. “It doesn’t matter what else happens, but when the Purveyors of Peril come attacking the world, when bad guys think they can beat heroes and do whatever they like, whatever they do to us, no matter how horrible, the guys who come to stop them whatever the cost, we are called The Lair Legion.”

“I think you’ll find we now own the copyright on that name,” smirked VelcroVixen.

“I think thou wilt find we art the Lair Legion anyway,” answered Harlagaz Donarson.

Nice place the Heckfires have there... it would be a shame if something were to happen with it. I'm curious as to what their motives actually are, because the reason given for the invite being extended to the Juniors is quite, well... reasonable. It seems like those in (corrupt) power do indeed tend to want to wine and dine and ensure the loyalty of (corrupt) law enforcement. So is the trap a literal one or a spiritual one?

There were probably four different plans, and only one of them worked out. I suppose Velvet's mild scheme to get some of the Juniors on-team might still work out with the survivors.

I've been shocked into awareness of the discrepancy between PV time and real time with my last visit to Lisa, where Christopher was driving. The increasing amount of grey hairs on my head doesn't help either.

Terrifying, isn't it?

Dancer, however, remains 22; I have firm instructions.

I suppose that the rare updating of the board has forestalled the day when Kerry laps her "older" sister.

It may be the reason for it.

It interests me that when my kids were school age I had stories to express my anxiety about school children. Now both my offspring are away at university. Hmmm...

Thankfully, you will have anxiety to inspire you until the day you die!

I am working (and eating) my way towards my first heart attack.
