Subj: It is isn't it? After the Coromandel Coast, so good for a southern Indian or Sri Lankan character perhaps.

Reply Subj: Coromandel is a great character name. Noted.

That is one remarkable piece of family history.

I was quite chuffed to find that link. I had felt a little un-Australian without a convict ancestor up to that point.

    Quote:
I'm not aware of anyone, but Watson, being derived from son-of-Walter, is a really common surname.

There were another set of ggg-grandparents located closer to your part of the world (Yorkshire) anyway, and then there were the Paterson, McCarrol, and Cheyne members who hail from further north of the border.

    Quote:
I do know that the family owns a farm that is now under the north sea off the coast of Yorkshire, so come the next ice age we will be rich. Rich!

There might be oil under it, you could become rich a lot sooner! Either that or a Lovecraftian creature from the depths now lurks there. Both are a win.

I've been reading quite a bit of my PV output for the first time since it was posted and I'm pleased that some of it holds up well. I was particularly surprised by Saving the Future, since I remembered virtually none of it and I was actually wondering what would happen next.

I was disappointed with myself to find I never wrote a tie-in for that.

I've also thought up a potential new Junior member after re-reading another back issue last night.

I now have two ideas floating around my head for that. Not sure if they fit in with your current line up though (one of them is potentially somewhat superfluous power-wise with the others).

Perhaps there is a senior and junior class?

    Quote:
“Forget the Junior part,” Kerry told him, standing over her fallen team-mate. “It doesn’t matter what else happens, but when the Purveyors of Peril come attacking the world, when bad guys think they can beat heroes and do whatever they like, whatever they do to us, no matter how horrible, the guys who come to stop them whatever the cost, we are called The Lair Legion.”
“I think you’ll find we now own the copyright on that name,” smirked VelcroVixen.
“I think thou wilt find we art the Lair Legion anyway,” answered Harlagaz Donarson.

That is neat.

      Quote:
When I was little, I wanted to grow up to be Roger Delgado (or his definitive The Master at any rate).

    Quote:
It's good to have ambitions. And role models. Universally.

Achievable ones generally work out better. Though all I'd really need is a TARDIS...

    Quote:
Again, I want to say yes but I don;t remember where or by whom. Maybe it was just the micro-hero version?

Ah yes, i think from memory the bandage Shoggoth was a microhero.

    Quote:
[the Technoverse] was a fun storyline to run, and it developed quite a few other plotlines in the wider Parodyverse.

Plotlines developing other plotlines is what makes the Parodyverse unique.

    Quote:
Ah, [Hacker9] ran off with Galactivac.

Ah, I'd referenced his chat with Lindy in #325, not the action after that in #328. I often wonder why you shunted him off? Was he too much a similar personality to Danny Lyle to keep around on the same team? Did you just grow sick of him? Or was there no real reason you can recall?

    Quote:
That's Lord Kyza to you, primitive!

You take that tone with me you can go hang in your punishment frame kid!

    Quote:
Some of the medieval additions are great, like Bible fan-fiction. I really like the adventures of Eliezar, Abraham's trusty servent and special agent, who gets sent out on all kinds of dangerous missions. Eliezar gets perhaps one mention in the Book of Genesis but he has whole story arcs in the accreted storylines.

He's the Bible hero we never knew.

    Quote:
In face Eliezar stars in one of the earliest versions of the story where a traveller stays at an inn where the landlord has a special bed, and will either stretch his guest to it of chop his feet off to fit it, until the hero stays and turns the tables.

That landlord sounds like he's right out of the Parodyverse!

    Quote:
Eliezar also shows up in The Fall of Babel.

Good good.

    Quote:
[Writing the Babel story] was a very challenging write but I do like the end result. It has all my strengths and weaknesses, including an improbably romance, sleazy villains, and nked women; the latter assisted by scholarly evidence that female dress in that place and time was basically a scarf.

I'm sure the scarf was able to be used a multitude of ways.

    Quote:
    Are you allowed a sabbatical?

That's for academics, but I do have long service leave which I plan to use this year.

    Quote:
Should you feel strong urges to either suicide or circus performing please refer to me first. For bunyip-taming one must first catch your bunyip.

Thank you IW. The offer really is appreciated. While the black dog does visit from time to time, I've managed to keep him at bay. Certainly, work issues are not worth the hassle or worry of escalating to that level.

Bunyips are notoriously difficult to trap.
