Thank you both in advance. I do enjoy the footnote and reference links, but worry it is burdensome for you.

    Quote:
It is. But this is the last one for a while. Took ages to find the story wherein Amazon Isle got moved to block an access to the Parodyverse.

That happened? Well, let's hope the footnoting search was worth it!

    Quote:
Really, Sam has got this storyline claimed.

I tried Sam & Mumph. I tried.

Wouldn't be the first time either has happened to Al B. *insert hyperlinks here*

    Quote:
I'm hyperlinked out, but I think from memory that the poster child case was around UT#297ish. Although maybe that one didn;t have enough... probing.

Or it could just be *see the space between Al B. Harper #1 and Al B. Harper #2*

    Quote:
Yes, his curse includes ways of destroying him so that he can be damned. Unfortunately, as Tanner says in the story, he wasn't really paying attention to the small print.

He seems to have done okay by it these last two thousand years or so without it.

Ha! I beat you to that and read it in the archives the other day already! And yes, it was a good one.

    Quote:
For ancient means of becoming a werewolf (including diablic pact, enchanted wolfskin, cannibal rite, and feral child upbringing, see Revd Montague Summers' seminal Victorian works The Vampire, His Kith and Kin and The History of Witchcraft. The Curse of the Werewolf isn't just an allegorical way of saying rabies bite infection.

Thank you, I shall. I can see some of his works are available online. What a thoughtful Reverend to write all this down for future pagans to study.

    Quote:
He's a citizen of the world. I reckon he's probably got half a dozen passports.

And probably access to some other-worldy dark places to boot.

I just can't see him joining the Gothematropolis York School of the Performing Arts, no matter how hard I try.

    Quote:
It would be a very different musical.

"Baby look at me, I'll take a bite for free.
You ain't seen the beast in me yet.
Give me time, I'll viciously kill the rest.
I've got a wolf in me, it yearns to be set free.
You don't want moonlight touching my hand.
Don't you know who I am?
Tanner is my name!"

    Quote:
Oh, I always play fair. It makes destroying one's enemies much more satisfying.

Spoken like a true villain! Or at the very least someone with dominant aggressive personality.

    Quote:
Ah, so I did. Well done, me.

Pat yourself on the back, you deserve it.

    Quote:
Because one bullet could save the world?

*chuckle* No, because there is hope for me yet then.

    Quote:
Most of [the De Soth Family] is listed in the Who's Who.

Yeah, except for that guy in the Haggatha/Tanner story you just linked me to.

Because white zippered jumpsuit with the zipper undone, that's why!

    Quote:
    Noted.

Do I need to post the picture again?

    Quote:
For some reason it;s not archived on my site, but I remember using a photoshopped cutout version of it in some of the 10th Caphan accompanying arc.

Really? I've never seen it, or was it the one in the banner you have here?

I thought those were your own poser works in that one?

    Quote:
It is just possible it came from Dancer, who I think also produced this:

Yeah, Dancer. Perhaps I should do a Dancer appreciation thread.

    Quote:
Meanwhile I came across this forgotten (by me) Vizh charactern(by Vizh), Garrick's future-daughter:

Oh that's who that is! Saw the pic, couldn't place the character.

    Quote:
And just to remind me of happy days when Shep was photoshopping garments onto nude models (while steadfastly refusing to pose again herself), here's another long-overlooked minor PVB character:

Because why not. I note she does not have a Who's Who entry.

      Quote:
Happy Birthday Rhiannon. In-story would be easy - just start writing about it. Let the filler 10 years fill itself or not over time about what happened to everyone else.

        Quote:
It would certainly be an interesting way to re-vamp.

    Quote:
    Not today.

No of course. Just adding to the thoughts on this.

      Quote:
Which would make Kara/Cody about 20 as well then. Is Al B. ready for adult kids?

    Quote:
I assume they're off at college somewhere (maybe even at college off-planet) during the current UT arc.

Makes sense. Kara is probably hanging with her mother for a bit. Not Cody though, he's a good kid.

    Quote:
Yes, I hate that. It's like there's a horrible retconning force leaking into our reality, slowly conmsuming it.

How could that be happeni...WAIT A MINUTE!

    Quote:
There's a case to be made that there's no magic in the story; in fact that's one of the debates that might offer means and motive. On the other hand, there's an evil magician and a guy named Abraham who has weird blasphemous ideas about there only being one God. Both are suspects.

I do enjoy your magic without magic. Though one day I'd like to see you go the full magic. That Abraham sounds like a trouble maker, no good will come from his ramblings, mark my words.

    Quote:
It also includes possibly my favourite opening sentence:

    Quote:
'Nimrod the Hunter turned round and kicked his high priest into the fire pit.'

*chuckle* That is a good opening, that's for sure.

    Quote:
Final proof copies are usually sent as a pdf, requiring sticky notes to be added where changes are to be made. To track changes requires converting the text back to word and ignoring all the end-line markets etc. that Adobe adds in. Even then it's not perfect. It is especially hard to check footnotes. When I got to 300 amendments and was 40% of the way through the book I told the publisher to get it redone or I was pulling it.

I hope he/she apologised!

    Quote:
Even that wasn't as annoying as the time I was asked to write the first story in a planned superhero team series that revived and updated some obscure Golden Age )out of copyright) characters. I agreed to a 10,000 word story, and then the guy sent me his "bible" and plot notes for what he wanted in the story, which weighed in at 6,000 words. I pointed out that there was no way that could translate into a story that short, so we agreed on a 30,000 word novella (half a book).
So I did the novella to the approved template but got it sent back for rewrites four times, each requiring major changes. The editor was getting frustrated because I wouldn't "stick to his suggestions". I was getting frustrated because his suggestions didn't work in the story. After about three weeks he went quiet, and then a couple of months after that he admitted that he wasn't going to publish that series after all. I have never wasted so much time writing anything that will never see the light of day for no pay.

That's so bad! So so bad. Karma is due to get that guy.

Half my stories were replies I'm sure. Speaking of - I did come across some email correspondence from us circa 2009 re: Al B. Harper's family history. Very interesting.

    Splendid. Proceed.

Lol, maybe in time for our next reunion. Sadly I started back at work today so I will not be as free as these last few weeks.

I have also decided it's time for me to look for a new job.

Lack of support or clarity, not to mention unfocused management making poor decisions with no consultation or communication, and ones that waste people's time, but then get reversed anyway, so it was all for naught, will have that effect on people. I'm not alone.
