I don't know where Jarvis got the name Lo-Chi from. There's a wealth of weidliterature about Shangri-La, the Ascended Masters, the tenth planet Nibaru etc. but I suspect Jarv just liked the sound of the name.

If he was using Chinese as a base, I think the name means demon spirit or something similar. I don't know if it's the same in Tibet. It's one of those amusing coincidences that it's so similar to Loki - though I'm betting the latter is why Jarvis chose it.

Of course, Lo-Chi and her Shangri-La people were influencial on the Tibetan culture, which has always been different from and often inimical to the Chinese culture.

The cultures are frighteningly similar when you get into myths and stories, though.
