I actually think this works just as well without Magweed really "doing" anything; it seems to me that she's just stopping to appreciate the world around her for a moment.

Oh, I like it well enough... but it's more along the lines of a simple character design image, while the background is more suggestive of an illustration. Had she even been simply walking down the path, it would fit the background better to make for a complete image. Perhaps I'll revisit it sometime in the future.

As the picture was loading (it comes in stages on dial-up!) I thought you were actually going to put a cane on her arm brace as well, but she's got enough hardware on her already.

Looking at the top half of the image, I get that idea as well. Ultimately, I imagined the hardware on her was to help straighten and strengthen her limbs as they developed, filtered through the design sensibilities of the likes of Al B. Harper and NTU.

I liked the sweater colours too, very nice. And the mice were a nice touch.

I wanted to give her a look that was similar to Vizh's but still enough of her own thing.

I sketched Rabito in at her feet at one point, but only the mice made it in so far.

Now I have a conundrum facing me; do I replace my current wallpaper (the text-less current banner) with this portrait? So much amazing Vizh-art, so little desktop space.

That's quite the compliment! Unfortunately, this one isn't really desktop dimensions.

I'm really quite boring with my desktops... they're usually one of the default ones that come with my computer.
