Quote: The LL will particularly want to keep Anna away from Master Machine. He'd be very interested in dismantling her for whatever upgrades he could reverse engineer, or in placing one of his own loyal AIs into her body. Even if thise weren't possible he'd be pleased to destroy an "Uncle Tom" machine.Anna is particularly afraid of being disassembled or destroyed (or both). Usually her response to such an intense fear now is either setting off the electronics disabler, or crying, or extreme violence. This is why she needs to develop a more mature emotional response. But as I said, she's learning very rapidly, so she might be different the next time she's out and about - especially after surviving undead Shee-Yar and seeing how Chiaki, Lara, and Liu Xi overcome their fears. Quote: Records have been leaked to the government since SR1066 when Amber St Claire was Obedience branded. Records were duplicated and pirated by the Baroness as Citizen Z. Records were freely shared with the heroic Carnifex.Maybe the records are freely on the internet by now - but what I mean was what promoted all the super-villains to try to take over the world and/or destroy the Lair Legion at once. Quote: Quote: Quote: The primary assault was on the DNA link to powers control but somebody took the time to also figure out how to fritz the interface Yuki relies on to control her robot body (it was Rikka Ulz Hagen if that helps; a number of specialists have contributed). Quote: Quote: This is where I can emphasize that Yuki's body design has 2 disadvantages that Anna's doesn't: It has to link to a human brain, and it lacks the defensive capability to reset very rapidly in case of failure (in Anna's case the latter was purely a military combat attribute).Quote: There's a wrinkle yet to come though.Noted. Quote: We don't know whether there's a specialised anti-Lara technique or how good it is. The simplest one would be to shoot her in the head with a long-range high-range assault rifle. Cheap too. That's by far the easiest and cheapest way - fortunately for her, she has this reputation so that most are afraid to try, and don't realize how successful it would be (which she mostly lends to friends who can warn her - or sometimes enemies who don't want her dead just yet). I actually thought about writing a story one day where around every corner someone's trying to take Lara's life, and she's getting more paranoid and afraid by the hour as her friends try and get to the bottom of it. She goes from feeling pretty strong, and pretty good about herself, to about what Anna usually feels like. A far more expensive way would be to build some kind of reactor that saps all energy out of everything nearby. Hopefully nobody would have battery powered electronics or cell phones within range at the time. Quote: Quote: Quote: The problem with fighting Aryan Ideal is that he has pretty much the same powers as Mr Epitome, including a fair bit of super-speed and a virtually indestructible hide. He's not quite as strong as Donar, not quite as dexterous as CSFB!, not quite as combat-trained as Yuki, but not far behind any of them.Quote: Quote: Chiaki can probably annoy the hell out of him at least, until she figures out she can cut off the end of his tongue while it's wagging or something.Quote: He's looking forward to having his revenge upon the Legion. The only solution I can still think of is if someone can figure out how to reverse the machine - and Al B. Harper or Hallie aren't there. It's probably going to be Visionary who has to do it. I hope there's a good manual. Quote: Pretty much anyone weaker than himself and especially women. According to Kirk, Aryan Ideal especially likes the strip-search interrogation part of his combats. If he picks on Anna first, Yuki would enjoy beating him up, too. Quote: In part it;s the natural corollary of the top predator disappearing. Without a Parody Master or Carnifex there's room for others to compete for the top spot. It's the coordination that makes me wonder. You'd think they would compete with each other, or maybe that one would start, and another would follow, etc. And even then, some of their plans would take far longer than others. But all at once, there has to be a specific trigger. Quote: And as I said before, you'll notice that there's one self-proclaimed archvillain who doesn't seem to have done anything much yet.If I were the Hooded Hood, I wouldn't either. I'd wait until the infighting is done and deal with the winner. | |||||||
