Doubtful because, a) Reed never ran the Avengers (The Captain did) and b) Al isn't the Reed prototype - that would be Wreed Wrichards (spelling?).

I'm not suggesting that Reed has< run the Avengers, just that that's what it would be like.

And I think modern-Reed is portrayed wrong, and actually >should be less like a rather repressed grey 50's schoolteacher and more like Al B's scientific adventurer mad scientist. Reed was once a swashbuckling lead hero. He's the one man who could credibly threaten the Black Celestial - and did. He's the guy that Galactus chats with. He's the guy who jumps into Negative Zones and time-bubbles and alternate universes like other people change their shirts. He's the guy whose family you never ever mess with. He's the coolest nerd in the Marvel universe and he should light up every page he's on.

That said, I'm wondering what effect Matt Smith's 11th Doctor will have on our definitions of mad scientist?

Al B. as leader would certainly be zany insane though. Probably not CSFB! level of zany insane, but zany insane none the less.

It would be a roller-coaster ride for sure.
