Perhaps, but Vinnie can be a little distracted sometimes, especially around Liu Xi. She can keep him from falling into traps during those times.

That's the narrative problem, though. Villains like Grimpenghast can reasonably be expected to be cleverer at diabolicic contracts than even the brightest lay person. Liu Xi would be better in a situation like that to demand a different set of rules in a different game altogether.

    Quote:
That's kind of what I meant. She wouldn't sign the contract, instead she would try to change the rules. But *if* she had to sign it for some reason, she would try and change those rules too, either by demanding a loophole she can use later, or by knowing that one exists.

She'd need a very clever ace in the hole.

They're likely to be far more interested in undisowning him - owning him - again now he's got the sorcerer supreme job. He's made good.

In that case Liu Xi's job becomes making sure he doesn't fall for it.

I fully intend to do a Vinnie-goes-home story sometime. It might be a Vinnie-takes-Liu Xi-home story, but I've not decided on that yet.
