> > > Liu Xi must have been in a practical joke mood sending Tandi with Vinnie. Though maybe not - she might have considered Anna, and either was told or thought that Anna, having more human-like emotions, would be more easily scared than Tandi. But then there's the cause of it all...so it may have been a practical joke after all.
> > I suspect it's more about social skills. Tandi would be able to deal with "people" issues much more slickly than Anna. But it might also be as simple a reason as Anna not having yet returned from her sojourn with Yo.
> True, most likely Anna would just follow quietly and try not to get too involved, unless she's asked a question directly or can supply some useful information.
|
It's also possible that Liu Xi sought a recommendation from Hallie as to whom might make a suitable chaperone to a Sorority House. Given other alternatives could be Kerry, FA, Dancer, Yuki, or Uhuna you can see why tandi started to look like a good choice.
> Then she would have blasted the bin into a puddle of melted metal and bits of burning paper. Jury's still out on whether that would have helped or made things worse.
|
It might have allowed the curse to jump into Liu Xi's blood, and possibly begin to access some of her abilities. Suddenly the scenario would have got a lot more deadly.
> > The actual real-world reason is that I started writing this story before Anna was introduced and developed anyway.
> Must be an old story, then. Also explains why Liu Xi isn't around even though now she's on the Paradopolis U campus.

I don't recall how long ago I actually started this one, but it certainly predates the Moderator stuff. However, in referencing Nats I've now placed it post-Saving the Future.
As for Liu Xi on campus it's always possible that this is how Vinnie became aware of the situation in the first place.
> > And Vinnie knows better than to bring an elemental sensitive into a volatile chaos-soaked poltergeist environment. Liu Xi could probably handle it but it wouldn't be pleasant for her.
> At least she could keep the flying objects away, and keep up with CSFB!'s banter.

Vinnie's probably still feeling guilty for the other times Liu Xi got dragged into supernatural danger.
