> I wonder ahead of time if Miiri might have requested training from the Psychic Samurai - Chiaki would consider the scenario to be "outnumbered but not outclassed".

Valuable pleasure slaves are taught to defend themselves and to some degree to defend their master, usually through light martial arts training (also good for the physsique) and profieciency with the needle-like houri dagger. Their training is designed for short one-to-one encounters, not sustained battle. A leman's combat training can be far more comprehensive, especially if they have bodyguard or espionage duties.

> Training for that situation would be very simple. Chiaki would have told Miiri that the secret is to control her breathing. Slow things down, and force the fear and panic in her mind to sharpen her reflexes instead of dulling her thoughts. Then she'll appear to others to move with superhuman quickness.
> Then again, it might be Kiivan who requested that sort of training, figuring that he would have to use it very soon.

Kiivan has been trained over the last six (of his) years in a variety of techniques on half a dozen worlds. He's had some very distinguished instructors including the Yellow Flashlight Corps, Vaahir of Viigo, and Shazana Pel. He's more likely to have studied with Yuki than Chiaki, although that might also be possible. His combat training programme was arranged by the Hooded Hood.
