Subj: Anything I could come up with would be way less fascinating than the current real-life drama.

Reply Subj: Personally, I think Gov. Rashomon should run for President, so that she can have influence on a more national stage.

It's not like the Democrats have settled on a nominee yet...

In any event, the nice thing about Senator Rudd is that it doesn't matter where he's from, he can easily be used for political stories. It's just the nature of being a Senator.

Having a fictional character as President of the United States feels like it's breaking a bit of an unspoken contract, that outside of the pockets of fiction we've inserted into our own version of the world, enough of it remains the same that its fictional characters can maintain common points of reference with us here in reality. As I recall, it's the reason you established Parodiopolis as a city in its own right, rather than setting the Lair Legion's adventures in a real city (or state). Granted, I'll admit that I'm fudging that line with the city of Seattle, the Spokane Indian Reservation and the state of Washington, but it's more contained, and I feel it creates a more vivid setting and context for Dream's "home field" experiences, if that makes any sense.
