... To someone who's seen, read and heard as much sci-fi about VR simulations, and questions of perception versus reality, as Dream.
While I think I've gone on record about intentionally turning death into a revolving door for Dream, I honestly hadn't noticed that so many of my portrayals of him include an injury-to-the-head motif. I suspect I appreciate how it gives me excuses to depict him as punch-drunk and trying to gather his wits, which is one of my favorite of his moods to write about, and I suppose it's something of a literal indication of how thick-headed he can be.
I probably derived a bit too much vindictive enjoyment out of how horrified Valium was by Dream's capacity for sheer spitefulness. | |||||||
